1. Is the 5000k suitable for outdoor lighting?

For residential outdoor lighting, the primary Kelvin you use ranges from 2500k-4000k. A useful rule of thumb: use a warmer color temperature of about 2500k-2700k on architectural elements and a cooler color temperature between 3000k-4000k for trees and plants.

2. How are photocells used on street lights?

They are essentially photoresistors because their output is proportional to the amount of light that falls on them. Because of this effect, they are also called photoresistors or light-dependent resistors.

3. What IP ratings are required for outdoor lights?

IP44 and above

IP ratings between 44 and 65 can be used for indoor and general outdoor use. However, any device below IP44 can only be used indoors. IP44 outdoor lights are rainproof and safe for outdoor use, however, they should not be exposed to pressurized water, such as jet cleaning.
