FAQ

1. What are the problems with LED street lights?

Because the LED light is so concentrated and has a high blue content, it can cause severe glare, causing the pupils of the eyes to constrict. Compared to longer wavelengths of yellow and red, blue light scatters more in the human eye, and sufficient levels can damage the retina. But this problems could be solves by designing the right PC lens.

2. What is the CCT of a street lamp?

Color temperature is expressed in Kelvin and is a mathematical calculation based on a light source's Spectral Power Distribution (SPD). It enables a large range of unique color combinations. Different combinations of Correlated Color Temperature (CCT) and Color Rendering Indexes (CRI) are available in LED lighting, which can have different impacts on eyesight. The color temperature is measured in degrees Kelvin, with a warm light (yellowish) being around 2700K, neutral white being approximately 4000K, and cool white (bluish) being around 5000K or more.

Protecting the public with lighting that promotes alert drivers and a safe environment may be the greatest priority in many outdoor applications, to explain why it's necessary. In those circumstances, the suggested color temperature is used, taking into account the space and the people who will be using it.

3. What Is The Salt Spray Test?

The salt spray test(also known as salt fog test) is a regulated and well-recognized corrosion test method, which is used to evaluate the corrosion resistance of materials and surface coatings of products like LED street lights. The materials to be tested are typically metallic (although stone, ceramics, and polymers may also be examined) and have a surface coating that is designed to shield the underlying metal against corrosion to some extent.

To evaluate (mainly comparative) the suitability of the coating for use as a protective finish, salt spray testing accelerates corrosion by causing a corrosive attack on coated samples. After a predetermined amount of time, the appearance of corrosion products (rust or other oxides) is assessed. The length of the test depends on how corrosion-resistant the coating is; typically, the more corrosion-resistant the coating, the longer the testing period before rust or corrosion appears. The standard test time of salt spary test is usually 1000 hours.

The salt spray test is one of the most widespread and long-established corrosion tests. ASTM B117 was the first internationally recognized salt spray standard, originally published in 1939. Other important relevant standards are ISO 9227, JIS Z 2371 and ASTM G85.
