What’s IP and IP66 LED light?

IP codes are defined in IEC 60529, which classify and provide guidance on the degree of protection of mechanical and electrical enclosures against intrusion, dust, accidental contact, and water.

An IP rating consists of the letters IP followed by two digits, the higher the number, the better the protection effect.

It can be seen that the IP level is not only for the waterproof level, but also the protection against dust and other solid matter is also required.

IP6x = first number - solid

The first number indicates the degree of protection of the enclosure against the intrusion of solid objects

IPx6 = second number- protection against water

The second number defines the degree of protection that the enclosure can provide against the ingress of harmful water.
