LED stadium lights start at around 60,000 lumens, replacing a 1500-watt metal halide lamp, and can reach an average of 150,000 lumens. Lumens are the amount of light emitted by a fixture, as opposed to the light on the ground (called foot-candles). A standard football field is 360 feet long and 160 feet wide, equivalent to 57,600 square feet. Please determine the level of competition. For professional-level games, at least 1,000 lumens per square foot is required. For high school or amateur-level games, 400-600 lumens per square foot is acceptable.
