LED Street Light Project in Norway

The town street and mountain path lighting project in Norway was finished in 2018. We chose 120W KM series street light for town street lighting and 60W KS series for mountain path lighting. Since this town doesn't have many pedestrians at night, we advised our customers to equip motion sensors for thees LED street lights. And all street lights are set to work at 30% brightness when there are no pedestrians, and automatically switch to 100% brightness when it senses pedestrians passing by. Such a working mode can further improve the energy saving ratio. Town residents are very satisfied with this lighting renovation project.

People Also Ask

  1. What is a motion sensor?

A motion sensor is a device that recognizes physical movement on a product or in the surrounding area. Real-time physical and/or kinetic movements can be detected and recorded by it.

Another name for a motion sensor is a motion detector.

The motion sensors in LED lighting area are usually used for detecting passing persons or cars. When there are no persons or cars, the LED lights could work under energy-saving mode, for example 30% power. If there are persons or cars coming and detected by motion sensor, the motion sensor would turn the LED lights to 100% power automatically.

  2. How long do LED street lights last?

    About 15 to 20 years.

LEDs use up to 50% less energy than standard sodium bulbs and can last for 15 to 20 years. There are also some surprising advantages. Better street lighting may make it easier to use public transit by reducing the feeling of danger and increasing visibility on the roads.

  3. What voltage are LED street lights?

The most frequent operating voltage for streetlights was 120 volts (62 percent), followed by 240 volts (28 percent ). The majority of entities that own streetlights (82 percent) employ individual photocells to operate the streetlight's on/off function.
